What fees does Etsy charge sellers?

Every Etsy sale involves multiple fees: a $0.20 listing fee per item published, a 6.5% transaction fee on the total order value (including shipping you collect), and a 3% + $0.25 payment processing fee. If a buyer found you through Etsy's Offsite Ads, an additional 15% (or 12% for high-volume sellers) is charged on that sale.

How to use this Etsy fees calculator

Enter your item price and any shipping amount you charge the buyer. Check "Sale came via Offsite Ads" if Etsy drove that order through Google, Facebook, or Pinterest advertising. The calculator instantly shows your net earnings, total fees, and what percentage Etsy keeps.

Why does Etsy charge fees on shipping?

Etsy's 6.5% transaction fee applies to the total order value, including shipping collected from the buyer. This is why many sellers choose free shipping — they bake the shipping cost into their item price, which can also boost search ranking since Etsy favors free-shipping listings. Either way, you still pay the carrier separately for the actual shipping label.
